✨ Upcycle with Sashiko Stitching ✨
Discover the beauty of sashiko, a traditional Japanese stitching technique, in this garment upcycling workshop. Sashiko uses simple running stitches to form intricate patterns inspired by nature. With roots in centuries-old textile mending and decoration, this craft combines history, function, and beauty.
In this hands-on session, you’ll upcycle your own garment, most preferable is denim due to it's firm, none stretch structure - you could choose from jeans, a skirt even a shirt. You will be guided on techniques and stitches to use to make your garment unique.
Materials and equipment are provided, you will need to bring an item of clothing, *preferably denim but any item of clothing without stretch that you would like to upcycle on the day!
