Wow... April was a full on month for me and my small business. For many years I have been asked to do Stitch Alongs but in all honesty, I lacked the confidence... I know, I know! I can come across as quite confident but that is a snippet of my personality on stories that everyone sees. The truth is, I am quite introverted and I worried for many years about the effects of trolling online, going live, you open yourself up to an unmanned platform where you are open to abuse, should anyone stumble across your live who fancies making your live unpleasant.
One of the additional aspects of 'going Live', that I have worried about over the years is racial abuse online... It's so easy to drop a nasty comment and not think of the consequences on that person. I am so sensitive that I worried about this for such a long time.
But I jumped in, took a deep breath and organised my first stitch along... Roving hills and it was more than I could have imagined! The people that purchased and joined were amazing, so kind and chatted away on the lives. People shared their progress and chatted amongst each other in the comments sections of their own posts... spreading community and support! It's been my favourite month of the year so far and so I thought I would share some of the beautiful pictures that have been shared over the month, from the Stitch Along.
This month I have made self-care a top priority of mine. Working more hours, all whilst caring for my youngest daughter at home, this has been essential for me. Three mornings a week I have been on a walk and taken pictures of the beautiful things I have seen. I was lucky enough to spot a Heron stalking fish along the canal and beautiful sleeping ducklings. The weather has been beautiful and life has felt good!.
I hope you have all had a lovely, peaceful April.
Love and Stitches,
Nat
